Supporting ASFPNG on Long Standing Reforms

Beyond expanding our digital reach and growing our balance sheet, Nasfund strongly supports the call from the Association of Superannuation Funds of Papua New Guinea (ASFPNG) urging the National Government to immediately address long standing legislative reforms. Alongside key national priorities, a central pillar of this advocacy is

meaningful reform to the Housing Advance Scheme:

• Lifting the Second Advance Cap: Under existing rules, members taking a second housing advance are limited to the amount of their initial withdrawal. We support removing or adjusting this cap so members can draw an amount that realistically

matches their higher accumulated savings, current housing needs, and real building costs.

To ensure our members fully understand their rights and options under the current framework, we have officially recommenced our virtual member education sessions, beginning with our most requested topic: the Housing Advance Scheme.

As highlighted in recent ASFPNG industry advocacy, housing remains one of the most critical avenues through which superannuation can support members during their working lives. Our virtual awareness sessions provide clear guidance on eligibility rules, required documentation, and how to utilize our digital portals to verify status and lodge applications seamlessly.

Looking ahead, Nasfund remains committed to

delivering modern, secure, and accessible superannuation services for all members, today for their tomorrow.

Thank you and have a supa day
